The Hokies set the tone early by capturing the doubles point. Drew Fishback and Frank Thompson led the charge with a commanding 6-2 win over Logan Zapp and Ian Mayew at the No. 3 spot.

The pressure was on, but Eyal Shumilov delivered for the Hokies. In a tense three-set battle at No. 3 singles, Shumilov clinched the match with a 7-6 (4), 1-6, 6-2 victory over Ian Mayew, sealing the win for Virginia Tech.

With this victory, Virginia Tech improves to 5-8 overall and 2-3 in the ACC, while North Carolina drops to 9-6 and 2-3 in conference play.
