UNC Rowing Star Earns Coveted Spot on Preseason ACC Watch List

UNC's rising star, Ella Gusick, earns a spot on the Preseason ACC Watch List, spotlighting her potential for another standout rowing season.

In the world of collegiate rowing, the spotlight is shining brightly on North Carolina's Ella Gusick as she secures her place on the Preseason Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) Watch List. This recognition highlights one standout rower from each of the 12 ACC schools with rowing programs, and Gusick's inclusion is well-deserved.

Hailing from Henderson, Nevada, Gusick is gearing up for her sophomore season in Chapel Hill, following an impressive freshman year. She was a crucial member of the Varsity 8 (V8) boat, participating in 11 races across five regattas in 2025. Her efforts helped the Tar Heels clinch a first-place finish at the Rocky Top Invite and a victory in the Petite Finals at the ACC Championships in Clemson.

As the Tar Heels prepare to make waves this season, they'll kick off their campaign on March 14 at the Oak Ridge Cardinal Invite in Tennessee. Keep an eye on Gusick and the rest of the team as they aim to build on last year's successes.
