UNC has lined up a loud and varied soundtrack for its 2026 Chapel Thrill Concert Series, and the biggest name on the schedule may be the one fans least expect.
The Tar Heels announced the full slate for their home dates, and it starts with DJ Diesel on September 12 ahead of the home opener against ETSU. DJ Diesel is the stage name of former NBA star and Naismith Basketball Hall of Famer Shaquille O'Neal, who will bring his act to Chapel Hill as part of the pregame festivities.
The rest of the schedule gives UNC a mix of country, rock and hip-hop across the fall. Chase Rice, a UNC football alum, is set to perform before the October 3 game against Notre Dame. Parmalee will take the stage ahead of Syracuse on October 24, while Neon Trees is scheduled for Halloween before the Miami matchup.
Later in the season, Waka Flocka Flame will help build the atmosphere before Louisville on November 14. The final Chapel Thrill Concert Series show of 2026 comes November 28, when 38 Special performs before NC State visits.
UNC introduced the Chapel Thrill Concert Series last season as part of a broader push to make game day around Kenan Stadium more than just what happens between the lines.
