North Carolina’s second open week of the season gives the Tar Heels a little breathing room, but for most of the class of future Tar Heels, the schedule is still rolling. Sixteen of UNC’s 17 commits are set to take the field this weekend, with only wide receiver Anthony Williams of Oceanside Collegiate Academy in South Carolina getting a night off.
The action starts Thursday night for edge Brayden Booth, whose South San Antonio squad visits Jay at 7:00 p.m. from Texas.
Friday brings the bulk of the slate, beginning at 6:00 p.m. when linebacker Tasheem Butler and Glassboro travel to Holy Spirit in New Jersey.
At 7:00 p.m., a long list of Tar Heel pledges will be in action: quarterback Noah Spinks and Summer Creek host Humble in Texas; wide receiver Chad Willis and St. Mary’s Prep head to Brother Rice in Michigan; interior offensive lineman Jaiden Lindsay and Our Lady of Good Counsel travel to Malvern Prep in Maryland; cornerback Nazir Pitchford and Palmetto visit Parrish Community in Florida; running back Isaiah Stephens and Sheridan host West Memphis in Arkansas; interior offensive lineman Neal Roberts and Winona host Amanda Elzy in Mississippi; linebacker Zykee Scott and La Salle College play at Salesianum in Pennsylvania; and offensive tackle Hudson Ingalsbe and White Plains host Hokes Bluff in Alabama.
The 7:30 p.m. window adds even more Tar Heel commitments to the mix. Wide receiver Amare Patterson and Bluffton host Hilton Head Island in South Carolina, defensive lineman Kaiden Robinson-Vickers and Hawthorne host Williston in Florida, linebacker Theo Wilson and Armwood travel to Plant in Florida, and cornerback Trey Johnson and Steele hit the road to face Pieper in Texas.

Nasir Andersons official visit to Chapel Hill gave North Carolina another chance to make its case with one of the top guards in the class. The highly rated recruit shared photos from the trip on social media, including shots from inside the Dean Smith Center, while UNC coach Michael Malone has already spent multiple visits at Andersons high school trying to keep the Tar Heels near the front of the line.
The trip may have done more than just reinforce UNCs interest. Andersons recruitment timeline could be moving faster after seeing campus, which is a good sign for a program hoping not to let the chase drag on too long. Carolinas women were still alive in key draws at the ITA All-American Championships, with Nicole Khirin moving into the singles round of 16 after beating Anastasiia Grechkina. The Tar Heels also kept one doubles pairing in the main bracket, as Zampardo and Maltby advanced to the quarterfinals and remained the only Carolina duo left there.
Elsewhere in the event, Rabman and Manning stayed busy in consolation play with a win over Wichita State, a useful result in a tournament that quickly starts separating contenders from the rest.
