UNC fans are finally getting the kind of Saturday night in Chapel Hill they’ve been waiting on all season.
The ACC announced that North Carolina’s Oct. 24 game against Syracuse at Kenan Stadium will kick off at 7:30 p.m. ET and air on ACC Network, giving the Tar Heels a rare primetime slot after a stretch that has felt heavily tilted toward early starts.
For a fan base that has spent most of the season living in the noon window, this one is a welcome change. Instead of the usual morning routine - alarm clocks, tailgates, and a quick scramble to be ready for kickoff - this game gives everybody the full day to build up to it.
There really is a different feel to Kenan Stadium after dark, and this one has a little extra around it too. The Syracuse game will also be Family Football Day at Kenan Stadium, which should add to the atmosphere when the Tar Heels return home.

Before the Orange come to Chapel Hill, though, North Carolina still has work to do. The Tar Heels head to Durham this weekend for a 3:30 p.m. matchup with Duke, then come back home for back-to-back games against Syracuse and Miami.
UNC enters that stretch at 3-2 overall and 1-1 in ACC play, with the season moving deeper into conference action.

UNC Opens Duke Week With A Roster Concern Fans Will Watch
Duke week opened with an early reminder that the injury report can shape the rivalry long before kickoff. The Atlantic Coast Conference released its initial availability report for the weekend slate, and North Carolina showed up with several names to monitor, including Kaleb Cost, Greg Smith, Isaiah Johnson, Jordan Hall and Jordan Washington, all listed either doubtful or questionable.
Duke also has a notable concern of its own, with star running back Nate Sheppard listed as questionable, but the focus in Chapel Hill will be on how UNCs report evolves from here. The ACC will update the injury list daily leading into game day, which means this matchup could look different by the time the teams finally meet. [Read more 🡒]
UNC Heads To Duke With A Defensive Problem It Can't Hide
North Carolina heads to Duke still trying to make sense of a defense that has too often put the offense back on the field. The Tar Heels have struggled on third down, and the issues have only grown more complicated with injuries thinning out the secondary. Against a Duke team that wants to lean on the ground game, UNC is walking into a matchup that will test both its communication and its ability to stay in control of long drives.
Nate Sheppard gives Duke a rushing threat that can expose missed assignments and worn-down personnel, which puts even more pressure on North Carolina to clean up the details. The Tar Heels do not just need better tackling, they need better timing, better down-and-distance situations and a defense that can survive without being stretched snap after snap. If UNC cannot solve those problems quickly, the Blue Devils have a clear path to make this rivalry tilt in their favor. [Read more 🡒]
UNC Just Entered A Fascinating Battle For An Elite Young Big
North Carolina has jumped into the chase for one of the most intriguing young big men in the country, extending a scholarship offer to Cherif Millogo, a 7-foot-4 center in the class of 2027 at St. Francis High School in California. The Tar Heels are the latest major program to get involved with a prospect whose size alone makes him impossible to ignore, and who already sits among the top players nationally in his class.
Millogos rise has plenty of layers beyond the recruiting ranking. Originally from Burkina Faso, he is being mentored by former NBA player Luc Richard Mbah a Moute, giving him both a unique background and a strong developmental guide as his profile grows. With several other major programs already in the mix, UNC has entered a battle that could take some time to sort out. [Read more 🡒]
