Seth Trimble is no stranger to high-stakes games, and as a senior captain for the Tar Heels, he's proving his mettle in a big way this season. Trimble's performance has been nothing short of electrifying, putting him in the company of some ACC legends.
In his last three outings against AP Top 25 teams, Trimble has been on fire, averaging 20.7 points per game while shooting an incredible 72.4% from the field. His efforts have propelled North Carolina to a perfect 3-0 in those matchups, showcasing his ability to deliver when it matters most.
Joining the ranks of greatness, Trimble is now part of an elite group that includes Tim Duncan from Wake Forest and Duke's Carlos Boozer. Both players left indelible marks on the ACC, with Duncan going on to a Hall of Fame career and Boozer enjoying a successful 13-year stint in the NBA with two All-Star appearances.
But there's more to Trimble's story that will excite Tar Heel fans. He recently became just the third player in UNC history to score 30 or more points against Louisville, a feat achieved only by Hall of Famer Bob McAdoo and Trimble's current coach, Marcus Paige.
Paige still holds a slight edge, having scored 32 points while hitting all 11 of his free throws. Trimble came close to surpassing his coach's mark, missing a few free throws that would have given him the top spot. Nonetheless, his leadership and performance were key in leading the Tar Heels to victory over the Cardinals.
Trimble's achievements this season are a testament to his growth and determination, and as he continues to elevate his game, the Tar Heels are poised to make some noise in the ACC.
