Tar Heels Extend Winning Streak with Dominant Performance
CHAPEL HILL, N.C. - The North Carolina women's lacrosse team is on a tear, showcasing why they’re the top-ranked team in the nation. With a commanding 24-3 victory over Louisville at Dorrance Field, the Tar Heels notched their 26th consecutive win, improving to 4-0 on the season and 2-0 in ACC play.
Leading the charge was Chloe Humphrey, who was unstoppable with six goals and three assists, setting a new career high with nine points. Eliza Osburn added to the fireworks with two goals, three assists, five ground balls, and two caused turnovers, proving once again why she’s a key player for the Heels.
In total, 13 different Tar Heels found the back of the net against Louisville, with the team racking up an impressive 46 goals over two weekend games.
Game Breakdown
The action started quickly as Kate Levy scored in under a minute, setting the tone for the Heels. Eliza Osburn and Kaleigh Harden followed suit, with Mairyn Dwyer providing a perfect assist to Harden. Darcy Felter's goal made it four in under two minutes, forcing Louisville to take a timeout.
Addison Pattillo added to the scoreline, making it 5-0 in just five minutes. Chloe Humphrey then connected with Caroline Godine for another goal, extending the lead to 6-1. Reese King capitalized on a clever play from Humphrey, and soon after, Humphrey secured her 22nd career hat trick in the first quarter alone.
Humphrey continued her scoring spree, ending the first quarter with five goals, giving UNC a 13-1 lead. The onslaught continued with Payton Magday and Mairyn Dwyer adding to the tally, with Humphrey tying her career high with her seventh goal, pushing the lead to 18-3.
Grace Winkler capped off the scoring with her first career goal, making it 22-3.

The Tar Heels dominated the stats, outshooting Louisville 27-5 in the first half and forcing 12 turnovers. Overall, Carolina fired 43 shots, with 31 on target, while holding Louisville to just 10 shots throughout the game.
