Sophomore sensation Helen Yeung delivered a stellar performance on Monday, carding a remarkable 6 under par to help propel the University of North Carolina to a commanding five-stroke lead at the Chevron Collegiate. Hosted by the University of Houston at the Golf Club of Houston, this tournament has seen the Tar Heels shine brightly.

Yeung's impressive rounds of 70 and 60 have placed her third in the individual standings with a 6-under 138. Her play was nothing short of spectacular, showcasing poise and precision on the course.

The Tar Heels collectively shot a 4-under 284 in the morning session and followed up with an even more impressive 11-under 277 in the afternoon, bringing their total to a formidable 15-under 561. This performance has set them apart from the competition, with Baylor trailing at 10 under, while Oregon and SMU are tied for third at 8 under. Arkansas rounds out the top five at 1 under.

Adding to UNC's strong showing, Megan Streicher delivered rounds of 71 and 69, tying for fifth at 4 under. Meanwhile, Marie Prats-Rigual's consistent play, with rounds of 72 and 69, has her tied for eighth at 3 under. Reagan Southerland also contributed with solid rounds of 73 and 71, finishing at even par.
