Former Jets Star Allegedly Used ChatGPT To Help With Murder

Ex-NFL star Darron Lee, accused of murdering his girlfriend, allegedly turned to ChatGPT for guidance, as prosecutors build a complex case that could lead to the death penalty.

In a shocking turn of events, former NFL linebacker Darron Lee is facing serious legal troubles, as prosecutors allege he used ChatGPT for advice after the tragic death of his girlfriend, Gabriella Perpetuo. Lee, 31, is charged with first-degree murder and evidence tampering, with the case unfolding in court this week.

According to the prosecution, Lee consulted the AI about handling an "unresponsive person" and injuries consistent with falling in the shower. This digital footprint adds a chilling layer to the case, as bodycam footage also captured Lee telling officers that Perpetuo might have slipped in the shower, despite the grim scene that authorities encountered.

Perpetuo, just 29, suffered multiple stab wounds, black eyes, bite marks, and severe trauma, painting a horrific picture of the events inside their Tennessee home. The prosecution has not ruled out pursuing the death penalty if Lee is convicted.

Beyond the criminal charges, Lee faces a $50 million wrongful-death lawsuit, further complicating his legal battles. Last month, prosecutors detailed the chaotic crime scene, describing blood in nearly every room and evidence of a violent struggle.

Detective Brian Lockhart, one of the first on the scene, testified about the disarray: boxes scattered, bloodstains throughout, and a shattered microwave among the wreckage. The autopsy revealed Perpetuo died from blunt force trauma, highlighting the brutality of the incident.

Lee, who called 911 from the home, was promptly arrested. His football career, once promising, saw him drafted by the Jets in 2016 after winning a national championship with Ohio State. Despite showing potential, his career faltered after stints with the Chiefs, Bills, and Raiders.

Lee's past legal issues, including a 2023 assault charge in Ohio, add a troubling backdrop to his current predicament. As the trial progresses, the sports world watches closely, grappling with the fall of a once-promising athlete now embroiled in a legal nightmare.
