Odell Beckham Jr.’s return to the Giants is ending almost as quickly as it began.
After three weeks back with New York, the team is moving on from the veteran receiver, according to NFL insider Jordan Schultz. Beckham did not record a stat during his short stint, and the Giants are making the roster change ahead of Week 4.
“Sources: The Giants are releasing WR Odell Beckham Jr.,” Schultz reports.
The move comes a day after the Giants traded for J.J. McCarthy and a few days after their Week 3 win over the Tennessee Titans.
In that rainy victory, Beckham was on the field for just six snaps. Across his three games with the Giants, he logged 19 snaps and finished without a single catch.
What started as a feel-good storyline never turned into much on the field. Beckham’s 2026 return gave the Giants a familiar name and a bit of buzz, but not much production.
The team could still bring him back, though that would most likely mean a practice-squad deal. Braxton Berrios is expected to take Beckham’s roster spot, and the Giants are not expected to cut another wide receiver to make room for him.
If Beckham does not return, he’ll likely look elsewhere in free agency. The Los Angeles Rams are among the teams that could use receiver help, and there are other options he could consider.
For now, Schultz’s report appears to close the book on Beckham’s latest Giants chapter. The comeback delivered nostalgia, but not much else, and the Giants seem ready to use that roster spot on a player who can give them more.
