Alex Rodriguez thinks the Yankees have reached the point where hesitation is the real danger.

“That window's closing,” Rodriguez said. “And it puts tremendous pressure on Brian Cashman, the ownership, the fanbase. And what an absolute tragedy it would be to have one of the greatest players of our generation only go to one World Series and not win.”
He didn’t stop there. Rodriguez laid out why he believes the Yankees should push their chips in now, pointing to the state of the American League and the kind of path that could be in front of them.
“If you're the Yankees, it's a very simple formula. This is the weakest the American League has been in our lifetime.
You have a scenario where you could play the White Sox and the Rays and go to the World Series. So if you're management, if you have an opportunity to go all-in, you gotta put all your chips in now.”
The Yankees are in second place in the American League East, but Rodriguez sees the bigger picture: a wide-open league and a real opportunity to make a run if the front office acts aggressively. He didn’t name a single target as the must-have move, but he did mention the kind of splash he’d be looking for, including Mason Miller, Tarik Skubal, and Hunter Goodman.
Rodriguez also made clear that this isn’t the time to protect the prospect pile. He pointed to Spencer Jones, Jasson Dominguez, Carlos Lagrange, George Lombard Jr., and other top young pieces as the kind of assets that should be available if the Yankees want to capitalize on 2026.
Even with Judge sidelined for now, Rodriguez believes help at the deadline could keep New York in the mix near the top of the division and set up a push in August for the AL East title and a first-round bye.
