Wolf Pack Forward Gabe Perreault Earns Spot in Prestigious 2026 Event

Rising through the ranks with standout performances, Gabe Perreault earns his first AHL All-Star nod in a season that's turning heads at both the AHL and NHL levels.

Gabe Perreault Earns First AHL All-Star Nod in Breakout Rookie Season

The American Hockey League has officially unveiled its rosters for the 2026 AHL All-Star Classic, and Hartford Wolf Pack forward Gabe Perreault is heading to Rockford as part of the Atlantic Division squad. It’s a well-earned honor for the 20-year-old rookie, who’s been making waves in his first pro season.

Perreault has been a sparkplug for Hartford, posting 17 points (10 goals, 7 assists) in just 20 games. That 0.85 points-per-game clip isn’t just impressive for a rookie-it leads the entire Wolf Pack roster. He’s second on the team in goals and tied for third in overall points, showing a scoring touch and consistency that’s turned heads across the league.

And it’s not just the AHL where Perreault is making noise. The young forward has already seen time with the New York Rangers this season, appearing in 15 NHL games and tallying seven points (3 goals, 4 assists).

His breakout moment came under the bright lights of Madison Square Garden, where he notched his first career multi-goal performance in a matchup against the Ottawa Senators. Not bad for a player still getting his feet wet at the pro level.

Drafted 23rd overall by the Rangers in the first round of the 2023 NHL Entry Draft, Perreault came into the organization with high expectations-and so far, he’s delivering. The Sherbrooke, Quebec native brings a blend of offensive vision and hockey IQ that’s translating quickly to the pro game. Whether he’s creating plays in the offensive zone or finishing them himself, Perreault has shown he belongs.

This All-Star selection adds his name to a growing list of Hartford alumni who’ve earned the honor over the years. That list includes recent names like Dylan Garand and Alex Belzile (2024-25), Brennan Othmann and Mac Hollowell (2023-24), and stretches all the way back to Rangers staples like Dan Girardi, Ryan Callahan, and Artem Anisimov. It’s a lineage of talent that speaks to Hartford’s role as a key development hub for the Rangers, and Perreault is the latest to carry that torch.

The 2026 AHL All-Star Classic, presented by BMO, will be held on February 10 and 11 at the BMO Center in Rockford, Illinois. The Skills Competition kicks things off on Tuesday, followed by the All-Star Game on Wednesday.

For Perreault, it’s a chance to showcase his game on a bigger stage and continue building momentum in what’s already shaping up to be a standout rookie campaign. For the Wolf Pack and Rangers, it’s another encouraging sign that their pipeline is producing the kind of talent that can make an impact at both the AHL and NHL levels.
