Rangers Report: Key Players Making Waves

Mika Zibanejad is on a roll, lighting up the ice with points in four of his last six games, and an impressive 14 of his last 17. With 11 goals during this stretch, he’s tied for ninth in the league.
Leading the Rangers in goals (23) and power play goals (11), Zibanejad is also second in points (52), assists (29), and faceoff wins (397). His 11 power play goals are tied for sixth in the NHL, showcasing his knack for capitalizing on the man advantage.
Zibanejad's 273 career goals with the Rangers place him fifth in franchise history, just seven shy of Adam Graves for fourth. He’s already the franchise leader in power play goals (119) and is the first active player to lead an Original Six team in this category. With 235 power play points, he’s two away from tying James Patrick for third in Rangers history.
Among Swedish NHL players, Zibanejad's 131 career power play goals rank fifth, just one behind Nicklas Lidstrom. His 337 career goals tie him for seventh among Swedish players, six goals short of moving up the ranks.
This season, Zibanejad has been the first to score in a game eight times, tying him for the league lead. His 59 game-opening goals as a Ranger are tied for second in franchise history, and his 38 game-winning goals rank seventh. With two hat tricks this season, he now boasts nine as a Ranger, tying the franchise record.
Fantastic Mr. Fox
Adam Fox made a triumphant return on February 26 after a 13-game absence. He’s second on the team in takeaways (20) and fourth in assists (24), leading Rangers defensemen in both assists and points (28). Fox is only the third Rangers defenseman to notch 20 points in each of his first seven seasons.
In franchise history, Fox ranks second in takeaways (368), fourth in assists (330) and points (397), fifth in blocked shots (724), and eighth in goals (67). He’s three goals away from tying Dave Maloney for seventh in goals among Rangers defensemen.
Fox is third on the team in multi-point games (10) and tied for 10th among NHL defensemen this season. His 100 career multi-point games rank fourth among Rangers defensemen. Since 2024-25, he’s tied for seventh in three-point games (6) and eighth in multi-point games (27) among NHL blueliners.
Fox is also making a difference off the ice, donating $1,023 per goal and $523 per assist to Tackle ALS. So far, he’s contributed $16,644 to the cause this season.
Shesty’s Saves
Igor Shesterkin returned on February 26, ready to make an impact. He’s helped secure points in 10 of his last 13 decisions (7-3-3) and has allowed two or fewer goals in 18 games, tied for ninth in the league. His nine games with one or fewer goals allowed are also tied for ninth among NHL goalies.
This season, with 30 or more starts, Shesterkin’s .912 save percentage ranks fifth, and his 2.47 goals against average is sixth. Since 2021-22, he’s tied for the league lead in save percentage (.916), third in shutouts (20), and fifth in wins (153) and goals against average (2.50). He’s second among goalies with 77 games allowing one or fewer goals.
Miller Time
J.T. Miller has been on fire, notching points in four of his last six games and eight of his last 11.
Leading the Rangers with 12 points in this span, he’s tied for the lead in assists (9). This season, he’s third on the team in goals (14) and faceoff wins (391), and fourth in points (36) and hits (100).
His three overtime goals are a career high, tied for fourth in the league.
With a 61.3 faceoff percentage, Miller ranks second among skaters with at least 500 faceoffs. Since 2024-25, he’s third in faceoff percentage (59.4) for players with 1,000 or more faceoffs.
Forecheck, Backcheck, Trocheck
Vincent Trocheck has been a consistent contributor, recording points in six of his last 10 games. He leads the Rangers in faceoff wins (411), is second in hits (136), third in points (37) and assists (25), and sixth in goals (12). His 20:58 average ice time ranks 13th among NHL forwards.
Trocheck’s 57.9 faceoff percentage is second in Rangers history for players with 500 or more faceoffs. Since 2024-25, he’s fourth in the NHL in faceoff percentage (58.4) and sixth in faceoff wins (1,321).
Too Cool
Will Cuylle has been making his presence felt with points in two of his last three games. Leading the team in hits (204), he’s tied for second in power play goals (4) and fourth in goals (13). The Rangers boast a 10-2-0 record when Cuylle scores.
His 204 hits rank fourth in the league, and since 2024-25, his 505 hits are third. Cuylle is the only player this season with 25+ points and 200+ hits, and one of two with 200+ hits and 50+ blocked shots.
