Hartford Wolf Pack Hosts North Division Rivals in Thrilling Weekend Matchup

As the Hartford Wolf Pack gear up for a crucial three-in-three stretch, they're eager to bounce back from recent setbacks and capitalize on their recent win against the Checkers.

The Hartford Wolf Pack are gearing up for a busy weekend, facing their second three-in-three stretch of the season. They'll host two North Division opponents at PeoplesBank Arena on Friday and Saturday, before hitting the road for a Sunday showdown in Rhode Island.

The Week That Was:

Last Saturday, the Wolf Pack snapped a six-game losing streak with a gritty 3-2 win over the Charlotte Checkers. Jack Studnicka got things rolling, tipping in a shot from Mike Benning just 4:40 into the game.

The Checkers responded quickly, with Justin Dowling netting his ninth of the season at 9:01. But the Wolf Pack weren't done.

Brendan Brisson put them ahead for good with a slick shot from the slot at 13:42, followed by Jaroslav Chmelař deflecting a Derrick Pouliot shot to make it 3-1. Despite a power play goal by Noah Gregor early in the second, Dylan Garand shut the door, securing the win.

Monday was a different story, as the Wolf Pack endured a tough 9-0 loss to the Checkers. Marek Alscher opened the floodgates at 15:04, and the goals kept coming.

Brian Pinho and Gregor added to the tally, and by the end of the second, it was 6-0. Three power play goals in the third sealed the deal, marking the fourth time this season the Wolf Pack were shut out.

The Week Ahead:

Friday night, the Wolf Pack will face the Utica Comets, wrapping up their two-game season series. The Pack edged out a 2-1 victory in Utica back in December, thanks to shorthanded goals from Brennan Othmann and Adam Sýkora.

Dylan Garand's 26-save performance earned him third star honors. The Comets, however, took last season's Hartford meeting in a shootout.

Saturday brings the Belleville Senators to town for the season's final clash. The Senators snagged a dramatic 2-1 win in their first meeting, with Philippe Daoust scoring a shorthanded goal in the dying seconds. Last season, the Wolf Pack defeated the Senators 4-1 during their visit to Hartford.

On Sunday, the Wolf Pack head to Rhode Island to take on the Providence Bruins for the seventh time this season. The Bruins have dominated the series so far, winning five of six encounters. Last weekend, they swept a home-and-home set against the Pack, including a 2-1 shootout victory with Georgii Merkulov netting the decisive goal.
