Mitchell Robinson Is Giving Knicks Fans Another Awkward Reason To React

As social media erupts over Mitchell Robinson's peculiar post-game photo edit, the NBA champion's fresh start with the Boston Celtics raises eyebrows on and off the court.

Mitchell Robinson is drawing attention online this week, and not because of anything he did on the floor.

The Celtics center, who won an NBA title with the Knicks after surgery before the Finals, was roasted after a fan noticed what appeared to be an AI-edited pair of Instagram photos from his account. One post showed two men standing together on a street at night.

In the altered version, a woman in a cowboy hat had been inserted in the other man’s place. The caption on the post read, “Crazy how good I’ll look in a relationship with a country girl 🫶.”

That led to plenty of reaction from fans. “NBA champion AI editing his homeboy into an imaginary girlfriend on instagram.

Shut it all down,” one fan wrote. Another said, “Bro Mitch posts emo broken loverboy st everyday 😭 wouldnt expect anything else,” while someone else added, “How are you tall in NBA and still can’t pull b*hes?”

A separate user joked, “i mean he’s posted his bedroom with a mattress on the floor.. no bed frame 😭 are we surprised,” and another comment read, “Lmao he got too much money to be doing this man 😂.”

Robinson’s social media buzz comes after a busy stretch on the court. He left New York for Boston in July on a three-year, $47.4 million deal, then faced his former team on Friday and helped the Celtics beat the Knicks, 107-103. He finished with four points, four rebounds and a block in that game, which came days after New York’s ring ceremony.

His Boston debut came on Oct. 20 in Detroit, where he scored four points in 18 minutes. He made both of his field goal attempts, missed two free throws, and the Celtics blew a 22-point lead in the opener.

“I gotta compete better,” Robinson said afterward.

SNY also reported that Robinson did not watch the Knicks receive their rings. “I just didn’t really wanna watch it,” Robinson said.

Knicks Could Catch A Big Break In The Karl-Anthony Towns Race

The market around Karl-Anthony Towns could be shifting in a way that benefits the Knicks, even before the front office gets to the real negotiating stage. Golden State is reportedly exploring trades for Kristaps Porzingis, a move tied to health concerns that have cast doubt on whether he will return to basketball at all, and any deal for him would eat into the Warriors salary-cap flexibility.

For New York, that matters because every dollar a rival team loses in maneuvering room can change the shape of a free-agency chase. If the Warriors are forced to trim their options, their ability to put together a competitive offer for Towns could take a hit, which would leave the Knicks in a stronger position to press their own case when the bidding gets serious. Knicks Already Have A Worrying Early Problem Around Their Stars

The Knicks season-opening buzz has run into an early snag, and it showed again in the 111-102 loss to Orlando, their third straight defeat to start the year. Jalen Brunson, Karl-Anthony Towns and OG Anunoby gave them enough star power to hang around after a strong start, but the margins that usually decide games have been working against New York, especially from deep and with the second unit offering too little support.

Orlando kept applying pressure behind Franz Wagner and Desmond Bane, who combined for 45 points, and the Knicks never fully found the counterpunch. For a team built around high-end talent, the early concern is less about whether the stars can produce and more about whether the rest of the roster is doing enough to keep those efforts from being wasted. Knicks First Garden Loss Exposed A Problem Fans Wont Ignore

The first Garden loss of the season came with a familiar kind of sting for Knicks fans, one that was less about a bad bounce than a game slipping away in plain sight. Orlando erased multiple double-digit deficits on the way to a 111-102 win, leaning on a bench that changed the tone of the night and a better perimeter attack than the Knicks were able to answer.

Franz Wagner took over late with 21 points in the fourth quarter and nearly finished with a triple-double, while Anthony Black made an impact in his return from injury with 18 points and sharp shooting. For New York, the frustration was not just the result but how quickly control vanished once Orlando found its rhythm, a problem the home crowd had little trouble recognizing. [Read more 🡒]
