Karl-Anthony Towns’ offseason got another piece of hardware, and this one came with a very different kind of ceremony.
At Towns and Jordyn Woods’ wedding, the Knicks’ NBA Cup championship trophy was displayed alongside the Larry O’Brien, a clear nod to New York’s title run. The Knicks won the NBA Cup in December 2025 by beating the San Antonio Spurs.
The celebration also came with a wink to the season that made the Knicks champions. Guests received hoodies with “Married in five,” printed on the back, a play on the “Knicks in five” phrase that circulated as New York closed in on its first championship in 53 years.
Towns and Woods were married less than a year after he proposed on Christmas Eve in 2025. The couple had celebrated their sixth anniversary in May 2026, making the wedding a long time coming.
Several of Towns’ teammates were there, including Jalen Brunson, OG Anunoby, Josh Hart, Jose Alvarado, and Miles McBride.

Now Towns heads into his third season with the Knicks as a champion, adding a wedding band to the championship ring he already earned. It’s another milestone for the former No. 1 pick in the 2015 NBA Draft out of Kentucky.
Towns’ résumé was already loaded before New York. As a rookie, he won Rookie of the Year and made the All-Rookie First Team. He has since been selected to six All-Star games and earned three All-NBA Third Team nods.
On the court, his second season with the Knicks brought 20.1 points and 11.9 rebounds per game in the regular season. In the postseason, those numbers dipped to 16.9 points and 10.6 rebounds per game. He was productive in the NBA Finals when he stayed on the floor, but foul trouble was a recurring issue, and he fouled out of Game 5.

A social media post of LeBron James, Jaylen Brown and Tyrese Maxey working out together only added to the buzz, and it quickly caught the attention of a Knicks fan who tagged Josh Hart with a reminder to get ready for whats coming.
Hart didnt leave much room for interpretation. He replied on social media that he is already training, even if hed rather not turn his offseason into a stream of gym photos. For the Knicks, it was a small but telling moment, the kind of back-and-forth that underscores how seriously the matchup with Philadelphia is being taken before the season even arrives. [Read more 🡒]
Knicks Get An Early East Test Against A New-Look 76ers
The Knicks do not have to wait long to find out where they stand in the East. New York opens the 2026-27 season against Philadelphia at Madison Square Garden on Oct. 20, then sees the 76ers again twice in the first six games, setting up an early measuring stick against a division rival that has changed dramatically since the last time these teams met.
Philadelphias offseason makeover has turned the matchup into one of the leagues most intriguing early tests, with LeBron James and Jaylen Brown arriving while Paul George was sent to the Celtics. For the Knicks, that means a quick crash course against a revamped 76ers group that will bring a very different look, and likely a very different level of difficulty, than the one they have been preparing for all summer.
