Jets Look To Offload Garrett Wilson In Potential Fire-Sale

Jets entertain trade talks, with Garrett Wilson catching the eye of Steelers and Broncos as they seek to bolster their receiving corps.

The New York Jets are stirring the NFL pot with their recent trade activity, and it seems they're not quite done yet. After sending Jermaine Johnson to the Tennessee Titans in exchange for defensive lineman T'Vondre Sweat, the Jets are reportedly still open to more trades. While they're not holding a clearance sale, they're certainly picking up the phone.

SNY's Connor Hughes sheds light on the situation, noting that the Jets are in listening mode. "The Jets are not having a fire sale, but Jermaine Johnson isn't the only player available," he reported. Sources in Indianapolis confirm that New York is open to exploring further deals.

So, who should the Pittsburgh Steelers and Denver Broncos be eyeing? Enter wide receiver Garrett Wilson.

The Steelers have had well-documented struggles at wide receiver over the past couple of seasons, lacking a solid No. 2 option. Adding Wilson could be a game-changer, giving Pittsburgh a formidable duo alongside DK Metcalf.

The Broncos, on the other hand, are in a similar boat. While they have Courtland Sutton, their roster of young receivers is still finding its footing. Wilson could provide the veteran presence and explosive playmaking ability they need.

Wilson's credentials speak for themselves. Posting over 1,000 yards in each of his first three NFL seasons is no small feat, especially given the Jets' inconsistent quarterback situation. Trading him, however, would signal a significant shift for New York-a move they're not quite ready to make, according to Hughes.

Yet, with the Steelers boasting a wealth of draft capital in 2026 and the Broncos not far behind, both teams have the resources to make a compelling offer. It might just be worth their while to see if they can entice the Jets into parting with Wilson.
