The New York Knicks have made a bold move by bringing Jeremy Sochan into the fold during the All-Star break, following his departure from the San Antonio Spurs. Sochan's start with the Knicks has been anything but smooth, highlighted by his benching in the second half of their recent loss to the Cleveland Cavaliers.
Despite the rocky start, Sochan remains optimistic about his transition. “It’s a process.
It’s my fourth game here,” he shared. “So we’ll figure it out.
We’ll be good.”
Known for his defensive versatility and knack for seizing offensive opportunities during his Spurs days, Sochan struggled to find his footing in San Antonio's rotation this year. The Knicks, who could benefit from an athletic defender, especially with Karl-Anthony Towns and Jalen Brunson facing criticism for their defensive play, see potential in Sochan.
To secure a consistent role in Mike Brown's lineup, Sochan will need to elevate his offensive contributions. “I think it’s just learning how everyone wants to play. The vibe on the team and all those sorts of things,” he explained.
The Knicks are set to face the Milwaukee Bucks on Friday evening, offering Sochan another chance to integrate and make his mark.
