Ex-Knicks Guard Ryan Arcidiacono Lands His Next Basketball Stop

After a notable college stint and years navigating the NBA, former Knicks guard Ryan Arcidiacono embarks on a new chapter in Germany with the Frankfurt Skyliners.

Ryan Arcidiacono is heading overseas.

Two years after his last NBA game, the former Knicks guard has signed a one-year deal with the Frankfurt Skyliners in Germany, according to Luke Adams of Hoop Rumors. It’s a new chapter for a player whose basketball path has already taken him from Villanova glory to multiple NBA stops and, now, back into the international game.

Arcidiacono’s name first became familiar to college hoops fans during his run at Villanova from 2012 to 2016. He picked up the nickname “Arch of Dimes” for the way he led and managed the offense, and his senior season gave him a permanent spot in Wildcats lore.

Villanova beat North Carolina in the NCAA title game, with Arcidiacono delivering the assist to Kris Jenkins on the buzzer-beating winner. He also took home the Final Four's Most Outstanding Player Award.

By the time he left Villanova, Arcidiacono had made history there as the first player in program history to finish with 1,600 points and 500 assists. He ended his college career with 1,604 points and 535 assists.

In the NBA, Arcidiacono’s run stretched from 2017 to 2024. The Chicago Bulls drafted him in 2016, and he spent four seasons with them from 2017 to 2021. He then moved on to the Knicks from 2022 to 2023, before being sent to the Portland Trail Blazers, where he played in 2023.

Arcidiacono returned to New York in 2024, though his minutes were limited. Even so, he became a favorite of then-coach Tom Thidbeadu, who praised his professional composure.

Over his NBA career, Arcidiacono averaged 4.o points, 1.9 assists, and 1.8 rebounds in 15.3 minutes per game.

He has also played professionally in Italy and Puerto Rico.

Karl-Anthony Towns Just Gave Knicks Fans A Wedding Moment To Love

Karl-Anthony Towns and Jordyn Woods turned their wedding into something a little more New York-friendly than your typical celebrity celebration. The ceremony featured a display of the Knicks NBA Cup championship trophy alongside the Larry OBrien trophy, and several of Towns teammates were there to take part in the day as well. Guests even left with hoodies that played off the Knicks championship slogan, a small but telling touch for a player who has already made himself part of the citys basketball conversation.

Knicks Get An Early East Test Against A New-Look 76ers

The Knicks do not have to wait long to find out where they stand in the East. New York opens the 2026-27 season against Philadelphia at Madison Square Garden on Oct. 20, then sees the 76ers again twice in the first six games, setting up an early measuring stick against a division rival that has changed dramatically since the last time these teams met.

Philadelphias offseason makeover has turned the matchup into one of the leagues most intriguing early tests, with LeBron James and Jaylen Brown arriving while Paul George was sent to the Celtics. For the Knicks, that means a quick crash course against a revamped 76ers group that will bring a very different look, and likely a very different level of difficulty, than the one they have been preparing for all summer.
