Madden Just Gave Jets Fans Another Reason To Be Furious

With Madden NFL 27's player ratings causing a stir, only two New York Jets make the cut, sparking debate over the criteria used to evaluate rising stars Garrett Wilson and Breece Hall.

The first Madden NFL 27 leaks are already giving Jets fans something to gripe about.

According to the X account @MUTLeaksXXVII, only two Jets players cracked the game’s top 100 highest-rated players: linebacker Demario Davis at 90 overall and safety Minkah Fitzpatrick at 89.

That total doesn’t actually mark a drop-off from last year. When Madden NFL 26 came out, the Jets also had just two players in the top 100, with cornerback Sauce Gardner at 94 and defensive tackle Quinnen Williams at 91.

The bigger frustration for Jets fans is the absence of Garrett Wilson and Breece Hall. Neither showed up in the top 100 for Madden NFL 27, and neither made that list in Madden NFL 26, either. Wilson was rated 86 last year, while Hall came in at 84, the same number as guard Alijah Vera-Tucker.

Wilson missed most of the 2025 season, so a major jump in his rating would have been hard to justify. Hall did post the best rushing yardage season of his career, but it still wasn’t enough of a breakout to push him well beyond 84 and into the top 100.

That’s where the debate around both players always seems to land: production versus the eye test.

By the numbers, the ratings make sense. Wilson and Hall have put up solid production, but not the kind of elite output that typically earns a 90-plus grade.

But anyone who has watched the Jets closely knows the other side of the argument. Wilson and Hall have dealt with shaky quarterback play, a revolving door of offensive coordinators, stacked boxes and bad game scripts. Those conditions have made it tough for either player to put up the kind of numbers that match the talent they show on film.

And that’s why, even with strong tape, both players keep ending up in the same place: underrated in rankings and underrated in Madden.

Why Mykal Walker Matters More To The Jets Than Fans Realize

Mykal Walker arrived on the Jets practice squad before the 2025 season with little fanfare, but he ended up becoming part of the defensive mix when the year mattered most. Over the final five games, he settled in as a steady contributor on defense and special teams, the kind of late-season development that can sneak up on a roster and quietly change the depth chart.

Walkers value now goes beyond simply filling snaps. He showed enough reliability in that stretch to put himself in position for a real backup linebacker competition heading into 2026, while also remaining a key special-teams piece. For a Jets team always looking for affordable, dependable contributors, that makes him a name worth tracking even if he still flies under the radar. [Read more 🡒]

Jets Linked To A Cornerback Fans Will Have Strong Feelings About

Terrion Arnold is back on the market, and the Jets are among the teams that have already checked in on the former first-round cornerback after his release from Detroit. Arnolds agent said multiple clubs have contacted him, with Houston, Seattle and Indianapolis also in the mix, while another team is set to work him out next week as he tries to line up his next opportunity.

The football side of the appeal is easy to see for a Jets team that can always use more help at corner, but Arnolds path back is still unfolding after a season shortened by a shoulder injury that required surgery. His agent expects him to sign with a team within the next 45 days, which leaves the Jets and the rest of the interested clubs weighing talent, timing and the kind of off-field baggage that can make a short list feel a lot longer. Jets Fans Have Every Right To Be Furious Over This Breece Hall Take

NFL.coms Matt Okada gave the Jets an A- for their offseason work, and the grade made sense on the surface. New York added impact pieces in the draft and made a trade that helped shape the roster, so there was plenty to like about the front offices approach as the team tries to build around Aaron Glenns new era.

But Okada also took aim at Breece Halls three-year extension, and thats the kind of critique Jets fans are unlikely to shrug off. Hall is still just 25, has been available far more often than not since his 2022 ACL tear, and has been one of the few steady offensive pieces on the roster, which is why the debate around his deal has become so interesting. The tension is less about whether Hall can play and more about what kind of team the Jets think they are right now, and whether paying him like part of the future was a smart bet or a premature one.
