The Jets got a clearer picture of their Week 5 injury situation on Thursday, and the biggest name moving in the right direction was Jarvis Brownlee Jr.
Brownlee, still working through concussion protocol after taking a brutal hit last week against the Chicago Bears, went from Did Not Participate on Wednesday to Limited Participant on Thursday. That’s a meaningful step forward as the Jets head toward Sunday’s matchup with the Cleveland Browns, especially with there had been real thought that he might not be ready in time. If he can’t go, rookie D’Angelo Ponds would be in line to take the spotlight as the Jets’ starting nickel corner.
For the most part, though, the report looked a lot like Wednesday’s update from Glenn. Breece Hall, Adonai Mitchell, Dylan Parham, and Kiko Mauigoa were all DNPs again, which effectively locks them in as out for Week 5.
There was better news elsewhere on the roster. Edge Kingsley Enagbare, who sat out the Bears game, was limited for a second straight day and appears on track to return.
That would matter for a defense that missed him badly in Chicago, where the Jets gave up a season-high 232 rushing yards. Enagbare has been one of New York’s best run defenders in 2026.
Tim Patrick also continued trending up. The wide receiver, who has been on injured reserve since before the season and had his practice window opened this past week, was a full participant on both Wednesday and Thursday. The Jets still have to activate him off IR, and it’s not yet certain that happens this week.
But they could use him. With Mitchell and Omar Cooper Jr. both dealing with injuries, the receiver room is thin. Patrick’s return would help the passing game, and his run-blocking could give a much-needed boost to a rushing attack that has been stuck in neutral.
Tight end Mason Taylor also looks like he’s moving toward a return after missing the last two games with a thumb injury. That would add another option for the offense, though the Jets will also be hoping rookie Kenyon Sadiq gets more involved after going without a catch against the Bears.

Jets Mock Draft Signals A Risky QB Plan And Defensive Reset
A fresh 2027 mock draft has already started to sketch out a possible reset for the Jets, and it begins with the most important position on the field. In Sports Illustrated, Justin Melo projected New York to take a quarterback with the seventh overall pick, a sign that the conversation around the roster is already drifting toward what comes next rather than just patching the present.
The bigger picture in the mock is just as telling, because the Jets are also tied to added first-round picks from trades and more help on both sides of the ball. Melos projection sends that extra draft capital toward the defensive front and the secondary, which says plenty about how the roster is being viewed right now: a team still looking for a long-term answer under center while also needing to restock key defensive spots. Jets Suddenly Have A Marvin Harrison Jr. Decision To Make
Wide receiver help remains a live issue for the Jets, and now a new name has entered the conversation as Arizona works on a potential trade involving Marvin Harrison Jr. Multiple insiders have indicated a deal could come together soon, and the timing matters for a Jets team that has been searching for answers amid injuries at the position. If the Cardinals are serious about moving the young receiver, New York at least has a reason to pay attention.
The lingering question is what the price will be, because Arizona is not expected to move Harrison cheaply. The Cardinals have reportedly set a steep asking price, which could force the Jets to decide how aggressive they want to be in a market where another team may still try to jump in late. For New York, it is the kind of decision that can shape both the rest of the season and the way the front office is judged for how it handles a clear roster need. [Read more 🡒]
Jets Thin Receiver Room Puts Pressure On One Returner Right Away
The Jets moved to shore up a receiver group that has been stretched thin, activating Tim Patrick from injured reserve and waiving Jamaal Pritchett to open a spot on the 53-man roster. Patrick has been out since the start of the season, but his return arrives at a time when the team needs help on the outside and needs it quickly.
Jaden Keller also got elevated from the practice squad for a second straight week, another sign of how much roster shuffling New York is doing to patch together depth. Pritchetts departure may not be the end of the story for him if he gets through waivers, but the immediate focus is on Patrick stepping back in and taking on a larger role right away. [Read more 🡒]
