For a Jets team that has not reached the playoffs since the 2010 season, the appeal is obvious. New York is expected to be in the lottery range again unless something dramatic changes, and a top draft slot could put them in position to chase a quarterback with star power and franchise potential.
Manning would also arrive in one of the league’s biggest spotlight markets.
