Jets Add Veteran QB Coach to Finalize Offensive Overhaul

With their quarterback future in flux, the Jets turn to veteran coach Bill Musgrave to help stabilize and shape the offense under a newly finalized staff.

The New York Jets are starting to put the pieces together on the offensive side of the ball, and head coach Aaron Glenn just made a key addition to his staff. After bringing in Frank Reich as offensive coordinator, Glenn has now tapped veteran coach Bill Musgrave to be the team’s new quarterbacks coach.

Musgrave steps in to replace Charles London, who held the role during the 2025 season. And make no mistake-this isn’t just a routine hire. Musgrave brings decades of experience to the table, and for a Jets team that’s staring down a quarterback room in flux, that experience could prove invaluable.

Just last season, Musgrave was in Cleveland, where he navigated one of the more chaotic quarterback situations in the league. The Browns cycled through three different starters, including rookies Dillon Gabriel and Shedeur Sanders.

Despite the instability, Musgrave managed to steady the ship, especially with Sanders, who not only held his own but earned a Pro Bowl nod in his first year. That kind of development doesn’t happen by accident-it’s a credit to Musgrave’s ability to coach young talent in high-pressure situations.

His résumé runs deep. Over the years, Musgrave has worked with a long list of NFL quarterbacks, from Deshaun Watson and Matt Ryan to Derek Carr, Nick Foles, Byron Leftwich, and Mark Brunell.

He’s worn both the quarterbacks coach and offensive coordinator hats, giving him a wide-angle view of offensive football that few can match. Whether it’s refining mechanics, reading defenses, or building out a quarterback-friendly scheme, Musgrave has done it all.

Now, the question turns to who Musgrave will actually be coaching in 2026. Tyrod Taylor is set to hit free agency, and all signs point to the Jets parting ways with Justin Fields. That leaves general manager Darren Mougey with a critical task: finding the right quarterbacks to pair with this revamped offensive staff.

With Reich calling plays and Musgrave guiding the quarterbacks, the Jets are clearly laying the groundwork for a more stable and productive offense. But until they figure out who’s under center, the picture remains incomplete. One thing’s for sure-whoever ends up in that QB room will be working with one of the most seasoned coaches in the business.
