Dak Prescott isn’t just walking into Ford Field with confidence-he’s striding in like a quarterback who knows exactly what he’s capable of. And right now, that’s a whole lot.
The Cowboys are 6-5-1 heading into Week 14, riding a three-game winning streak and playing some of their best football of the season. At the heart of it all is Prescott, who’s quietly putting together one of the most efficient and explosive campaigns of his 10-year career. Dallas leads the league in total yards per game (393.1) and sits second in points per game (29.3), and that’s no coincidence-Prescott is operating at a level few quarterbacks in the league can match right now.
So when he was asked what he remembered most about his last trip to Detroit, Prescott didn’t hesitate.
“That we lit them up,” he told NFL Network’s Jane Slater, flashing a confident smile. “Lot of passing yards. About to do it again.”
He’s not wrong. The last time he faced the Lions in Detroit, back in 2023, Prescott carved up their secondary for 345 yards and a pair of touchdowns in a narrow 20-19 win.
It wasn’t just the yardage-it was the control, the poise, and the ability to make the big throws when they mattered most. And if his current form is any indication, he’s got every reason to believe he can replicate that performance.

He’s completing 69.3% of his passes-fifth-best in the league-and has thrown just eight interceptions despite attempting 437 passes, the second-most in the NFL. That combination of volume and efficiency is rare, and it speaks to how locked in Prescott has been.

Prescott is spreading the ball around with precision, making smart decisions under pressure, and delivering in critical moments. The Cowboys’ offensive line has done its part, giving him time to operate, but it’s Prescott who’s pulling the strings and keeping the chains moving.
