Cameron Jordan Stuns Fans with Bold Comment on Jets Future

Cameron Jordan, poised for free agency, takes a swipe at the Jets while eyeing the Saints' potential resurgence.

Veteran pass-rusher Cameron Jordan has been a staple for the New Orleans Saints since they snagged him in the first round of the 2011 NFL Draft. Now at 36, he's on the brink of free agency as the new league year approaches on March 11.

In a recent conversation with TMZ Sports, Jordan made it clear he's not interested in joining the New York Jets if they come calling next month.

Cameron Jordan's Take on the Jets and Saints' Future

When asked about the Saints' potential for a playoff run next season, Jordan didn't hold back. "I hope so," he said.

"Isn't that the goal? Nobody goes into the offseason thinking, man, I hope we just win three games.

I'll leave that to the Jets."

It's no secret the Saints have struggled recently, missing the playoffs for five straight years. Meanwhile, the Jets have the longest active postseason drought across major North American sports leagues, now at 15 years. There's even chatter about Jets head coach Aaron Glenn's job security, and the team lacks a clear long-term quarterback.

Jordan's Perspective on Tyler Shough's Rookie Year

The 2025 season saw the Saints finish 6-11 under first-year head coach Kellen Moore, with rookie quarterback Tyler Shough at the helm for a 5-4 record as a starter.

When asked if Shough could be the Saints' long-term answer at quarterback, Jordan was optimistic. "I'm hoping so," he said.

"I think with him, there could be a bright future. Hopefully, we continue to build upon that process we showed last year."

Daniel Popper of The Athletic recently speculated that Jordan might secure a one-year, $8 million deal in free agency. While Jordan expressed his desire "to be valued," it's uncertain if the Saints see him as part of their future plans.
