Bleacher Report’s latest NFL 1000 player ranking doesn’t exactly shower the Jets with praise, but it does give New York a few bright spots as the 2026 season approaches.
The headline name for the Jets is second-year right tackle Armand Membou, who checked in at 78 and landed as the fourth-best right tackle in the league. That puts him in the “Critical Roster Piece” tier, and the scouting note explains why: he started all 17 games as a rookie, flashed right away against T.J.
Watt in Week 1, and showed the kind of power and leverage that can overwhelm defenders. The report also points to the parts of his game that still need polishing, especially in the run game and in pass protection, but the overall message is clear.
Membou already looks like a building block.
New York’s best overall grade belongs to safety Minkah Fitzpatrick, who came in at 80 and ranked 19th among safeties. The Jets landed him for a seventh-round pick earlier this year, and Bleacher Report still sees him as a high-end player at the position. The takeaway around him is just as important as the grade itself: Fitzpatrick, along with the team’s other veteran additions, is already being viewed as a leader in the culture Aaron Glenn wants to build.
The offensive line gets some of the most encouraging treatment in the group. Membou headlines that unit, but Olu Fashanu also came in strong at 76 as the 13th-ranked left tackle.
Joe Tippmann landed at 69 at right guard, while Josh Myers scored 63 at center and Dylan Parham came in at 61 at left guard. For a team coming off a 3-13 season, having three linemen in the conversation at the top end of the group stands out.
At receiver, Garrett Wilson remains the biggest name and the biggest what-if. He was ranked 22nd among wideouts with a 78, and the scouting report makes the case for why he still pops even after a season limited to seven games because of a knee injury.
Wilson was a consistent 1,000-yard receiver before last season, and the note credits his route-running, separation skills, football IQ, and ability to line up all over the formation. It also says plainly that his career has been held back by inadequate quarterback play, adding, “He’s one of the biggest “what-ifs” in the NFL; hopefully, a good quarterback will walk through the Jets’ doors before it’s too late.”
Breece Hall was the next-best skill player, earning a 77 and ranking 11th among running backs. Bleacher Report highlighted his first 1,000-yard rushing season in 2025, his recovery from the ACL tear in 2022, and the burst he brings as both a runner and receiver.
The note calls him “a diamond in the rough.” Behind him, Braelon Allen checked in at 67 and Isaiah Davis at 63.
The rest of the Jets’ skill group was more modestly graded. Adonai Mitchell landed at 67 at wide receiver, Tim Patrick at 64, Mason Taylor at 66 at tight end, and Jeremy Ruckert at 58. At quarterback, Geno Smith came in at 67 and ranked 29th.
On defense, David Onyemata was the top interior lineman for New York at 73, followed by T’Vondre Sweat and Jowon Briggs at 69 and Harrison Phillips at 68. Edge rusher Joseph Ossai was graded at 70, Will McDonald at 68, and Kingsley Enagbare at 63. At linebacker, Jamien Sherwood earned a 74 and Demario Davis a 72.
The secondary had a mixed look beyond Fitzpatrick. Nahshon Wright was the top corner at 70, Jarvis Brownlee Jr. came in at 69, Brandon Stephens at 63, and Azarayeh Thomas at 60. At safety, Andre Cisco was graded at 71, with Malachi Moore and Dane Belton both at 70.
For all the talk around the lower-ranked names, the bigger picture is straightforward: the Jets don’t have a roster packed with elite grades, but they do have a few players Bleacher Report clearly believes can anchor the team’s next step, especially Membou, Fitzpatrick, Fashanu, Wilson, and Hall.
