Aaron Glenn Sends Bold Message After Jets Hit 3-12 Mark

With the season unraveling and fan frustration mounting, Aaron Glenn offers a candid message as the Jets eye a turbulent finish and uncertain future.

The New York Jets’ 2025 season has unraveled into something few saw coming - not just a rebuild, but a full-blown collapse. Sunday's loss to the New Orleans Saints dropped them to 3-12, and with two games left against AFC heavyweights in the Patriots and Bills, it’s hard to see Gang Green finishing on anything but a sour note.

Jets fans are understandably frustrated. There was real optimism heading into the season under new head coach Aaron Glenn, a former Jets standout who brought energy and credibility to the job when he was hired less than a year ago.

But the results have been brutal. The team has lost three straight games by a combined score of 111-36 - a staggering deficit that speaks to problems on both sides of the ball.

Even more telling: the defense hasn’t recorded a single interception all season. In today’s NFL, that’s almost unheard of.

Despite the mounting losses and growing discontent, Glenn isn’t backing down. He addressed the media Monday with a message of resolve and patience.

“For the fans, listen, it’s going to be a tough road,” Glenn said. “We knew that, but, man, the thing is, we know exactly what we’re doing.

We have a plan. Just don’t let go of the rope.”

That rope’s been fraying for a while now. Glenn took over a 5-12 team, but the steps forward haven’t materialized. Instead, the Jets have slid further into dysfunction, with a roster that’s been stripped of its star power and a quarterback situation that’s once again in flux.

Still, Glenn insists this season hasn’t been without purpose. He’s focused on building a foundation - even if the results haven’t shown it yet.

“From Day 1, we’ve been trying to set the foundation of what we want this team to be,” Glenn said. “A lot of that is from an in-house perspective.

We plan on going out there and playing our best and giving effort. We plan on going out there and winning the game also, all right?

We do. We want to go out there and put on a good show for our fans.

We know it’s our last home game. We look forward to it.”

That final home game comes against a playoff-caliber opponent, and Glenn made it clear his team is embracing the spoiler role.

“We know it’s a really, really good opponent,” he said. “So there’s nothing better than us going out there and probably spoiling what they’re trying to accomplish as a team and making sure our last game is a game our fans can remember.”

It’s a noble sentiment, but the road to redemption in New York is long - and it may start with another reset under center. The Jets are widely expected to draft a quarterback in the first round of the 2026 NFL Draft, which likely spells the end of the line for Justin Fields in green and white. Whether by trade or release, Fields appears to be on his way out after a disappointing run that saw him benched earlier this year.

This season has been marked by instability and upheaval. The Jets started 0-7, shipped out cornerstone defenders Sauce Gardner and Quinnen Williams, benched their quarterback, and fired defensive coordinator Steve Wilks. It’s been a whirlwind - one that’s left the franchise searching for direction once again.

But for Glenn, the mission hasn’t changed. He’s asking fans to stay with him, even as the losses pile up.

Whether that message resonates - and whether he’ll get the time to see his vision through - remains to be seen. What’s clear is that the Jets are at yet another crossroads.

And with two games left, they’re playing for pride, for progress, and maybe, just maybe, for a glimpse of hope in a season that’s offered very little.
