Aaron Glenn had a sobering update after Tuesday’s scary scene at Jets training camp, but the New York head coach also made clear there was at least one encouraging detail in the moment cornerback Qwan’tez Stiggers went down.
Stiggers passed out on the sidelines and was taken to the hospital by ambulance during camp as the Jets continue preparing for the 2026 NFL season. Glenn said the response from the team’s medical personnel was exactly what needed to happen.
“The good thing is that he was conscious. Our guys did a hell of a job, just like most medical staff in this league do in situations like that, and they took the necessary steps to make sure we do everything we can to be on board when it comes to those situations, so he was able to talk.
“I want to make sure I go and see him after this, just to make sure I'm good with everything, but for the most part he was good,” said Glenn, per Mike Garafolo of the NFL Network on X, formerly Twitter.
Glenn also said Stiggers had passed out after leaving the field from a play, adding another detail to what was already a frightening moment at practice.
Stiggers, who the Jets drafted out of the CFL in 2024, has already made his mark with the team. One of his notable plays came last year against the Atlanta Falcons, when he recovered a fumble.
For now, the main concern is Stiggers’ recovery, and Glenn credited the medical staff for getting him the help he needed and getting him safely to the hospital. The Jets are set to open their season September 13 on the road against the Tennessee Titans.
