Texans Sign G Evan Brown to Shake Up 2026 Roster

The Houston Texans bolster their offensive line by adding experienced guard Evan Brown on a one-year deal for the 2026 season.

The Houston Texans are adding some experience to their offensive line by signing guard Evan Brown to a one-year deal worth up to $3.5 million for the 2026 season. This move, reported by Ian Rapoport, brings a seasoned player into the Texans' fold.

Brown, now 29, began his NFL journey as an undrafted free agent with the New York Giants out of SMU in 2018. Although he initially made the Giants' active roster, he found himself waived after the preseason. However, the Giants saw potential and brought him back to their practice squad.

Since those early days, Brown's career has been a bit of a whirlwind. He had brief stops with the Miami Dolphins and Cleveland Browns before finding a more stable role with the Detroit Lions in 2021. It was with the Lions that Brown began to carve out a niche for himself, earning a one-year contract extension.

His journey continued with the Seattle Seahawks in 2023, where he signed another one-year deal. In 2024, he joined the Arizona Cardinals on a $2.4 million contract, proving his worth as a reliable guard.

The Cardinals saw enough promise to offer him a two-year, $11.5 million contract ahead of the 2025 season. However, after starting 11 games at left guard last year, Brown was released this offseason.

Now, with the Texans, Brown has a fresh opportunity to showcase his skills and bring veteran leadership to the offensive line. His journey through the NFL has been marked by resilience and adaptability, traits that the Texans will surely value as they look to bolster their offensive front.
