Marissa Ayers is pushing back after a wave of online criticism hit her during Jaxson Dart’s Giants training camp.
Ayers visited Dart this month at the team’s official camp in East Rutherford, New Jersey, and a brief on-field photo of the two kissing set off backlash on social media. Some fans labeled her a “distraction,” but Ayers said the visits are meant to bring families together, not pull players off task.
Using her personal TikTok account, Ayers explained what those camp days are actually for. “This week [at training camp] it’s just a little more intimate, so, family, girlfriends, [and] wives… Because I’m seeing comments, and it’s like, ‘Why are the girlfriends there?’
It’s to bring the families together. It just kind of gives everyone a chance to meet, hang out, and bond, and just be a part of it.
The kids can go and see their dads, it’s so cute,” Ayers said, via the New York Post.
She also stressed that the players are still locked into football while those visits happen. “They basically practice for 2-3 hours, and you see the players for maybe like 10 minutes… and then they’re back in meetings for the rest of the afternoon and night.
It’s not like they’re hanging out. Trust me, they’re locked in.
It’s a chance for us to be supportive before the season. Just so much hate online and negative commentary around players.”
Ayers and Dart first connected in October 2025 during his rookie NFL season. Before they went public, Alix Earle was briefly tied to Dart in social media rumors, though that chatter was quickly shut down. The couple later went on their first official date in New York City, where they had dinner and saw The Great Gatsby on Broadway.
Ayers also supported Dart from the sidelines at Gillette Stadium during a Giants game against the Patriots, where she was seen spending time with Dart’s mother. She later confirmed the relationship on Instagram with a post captioned, “Rumor has it… @JaxsonDart.”
Dart’s first NFL season with the Giants in 2025 was a promising one, even with an injury-hit supporting cast around him. His aggressive playing style brought multiple injury scares and concussion protocol trips, though. He enters 2026 with a completely overhauled coaching staff and plenty of buzz as a possible franchise quarterback.
That outlook already took a scare in the 2026 preseason opener against the Minnesota Vikings, when Dart cleared concussion protocol after a hard hit and then threw a touchdown pass on the very next play. It was his sixth career visit to the medical tent.
The Giants moved back into the first round of the 2025 NFL Draft to take Dart 25th overall, and the hope now is simple: keep him upright.
