Jaxson Dart’s afternoon against the Rams took a hard turn almost immediately, and the Giants are now waiting on the extent of a left knee injury after the rookie quarterback was forced out early in Week 2.
It happened on the seventh play of New York’s first drive. The Giants later listed Dart as questionable to return with a left knee injury. He was not sent to the X-Ray room after leaving the field, and for now that’s where the update stands. Jameis Winston has stepped in at quarterback while Dart is being evaluated.
This is hardly unfamiliar territory for Giants fans. Dart’s injury history has already started to stack up, with the quarterback dealing with several scares during his rookie season and being checked for a concussion five different times in 2025.

November 2025, concussion: Dart sustained a concussion in the Giants’ Week 10 loss to the Chicago Bears when his head slammed the turf at the end of a third-quarter run. He sat out the next two games and returned in Week 13.
For now, the Giants’ latest update is the same one that mattered most in the moment: Dart is questionable to return with a left knee injury, and Famous Jameis has taken over under center.
