Giants Interview Dolphins Coach Amid Search for New Offensive Leader

With a wealth of experience across college and NFL sidelines, Robert Prince is emerging as a serious contender for the Giants vacant offensive coordinator role.

The New York Giants are continuing their search for a new offensive coordinator, and their latest interview brings a seasoned name into the mix: Dolphins wide receivers coach Robert Prince.

According to NFL insider Tom Pelissero, Prince recently sat down with the Giants to discuss the vacancy. It’s a notable development, especially considering Prince was also in the running for the Saints’ OC job around this time last year. Clearly, he’s been on the radar for teams looking to inject experience and creativity into their offensive game plans.

Prince, now 60, has taken the long road through the coaching ranks. His journey began back in 1989 at Humboldt State, and over the decades, he’s built a résumé that spans both college football and the NFL. His first NFL position coach role came in 2004 when he took over as running backs coach for the Atlanta Falcons.

But it was at Boise State in 2012 where Prince got his first taste of calling plays, serving as the Broncos’ offensive coordinator. That stint helped showcase his ability to manage an offense and develop talent-two key traits that have followed him through the league.

He joined the Detroit Lions in 2014 as their wide receivers coach, a role he held for seven seasons. During that time, he worked with a number of high-profile pass-catchers and helped shape one of the more consistent position groups in Detroit’s offense.

From there, Prince made a stop in Houston before being hired by the Cowboys in 2023 to coach their wideouts. He then moved to Miami in 2024, taking on the same role with the Dolphins.

What stands out about Prince is his versatility and longevity. He’s coached running backs, wide receivers, and coordinated at the college level.

He’s worked under a variety of offensive systems and adapted to different personnel groups. That adaptability could be exactly what the Giants are looking for as they try to reinvigorate their offense.

While the Giants haven’t made a final decision yet, bringing in a coach like Prince-someone who’s been around the league, understands how to develop skill-position talent, and has experience designing and implementing offensive schemes-signals that they’re casting a wide net and taking a thoughtful approach to this hire.

For now, it’s another name to watch as the Giants weigh their options. But Robert Prince’s deep coaching background and steady rise through the ranks make him a candidate worth keeping an eye on.
