The New York Giants have seen a bit of a migration to Nashville, with familiar faces like Brian Daboll, Carmen Bricillo, Wan’Dale Robinson, Cor’Dale Flott, Daniel Bellinger, and Austin Schlottmann now sporting Titans blue. It seems the Titans might not be done yet, with whispers of another addition from the Big Apple.
Earlier this offseason, the Giants made a strategic move by releasing veteran linebacker Bobby Okereke, freeing up $9 million in cap space. This financial flexibility allowed them to bring in Tremaine Edmunds, a younger and more dynamic player who’s poised for a comeback after a tough 2025 season. For the Giants, this was a clear win.
As for Okereke, his next chapter is still unwritten, but the dots are connecting towards Tennessee. According to Bleacher Report's Gary Davenport, Okereke could be the perfect piece to solidify a Titans defense brimming with new talent in 2026. With the Titans' ample cap space, they could seamlessly integrate Okereke’s contract without jeopardizing future plans.
Bringing Okereke into the fold almost feels like a no-brainer for the Titans. Beyond the Daboll connection, there are strong ties with Gus Bradley and Dave Borgonzi. Bradley, who was Okereke’s defensive coordinator in 2022 with the Colts, and Borgonzi, his linebackers coach from 2019 to 2021, would make his transition smooth and familiar.
The Titans are nurturing a promising linebacker in Cedric Gray, a 2024 fourth-round pick who impressed last season with 164 tackles, ranking just ahead of Okereke. However, Gray could use a reliable partner, as Cody Barton hasn’t quite filled that role. With over $63 million in cap space, adding Okereke would be a strategic and effortless move.
This potential addition would not only continue the Giants-themed transformation in Nashville but also provide the Titans with a savvy, high-IQ linebacker duo in Okereke and Gray, ready to take on any challenge that comes their way.
