Rashid Shaheed Eager for Seahawks Reunion After Stellar Super Bowl Run

Star wide receiver Rashid Shaheed is eager to rejoin the Seahawks, citing a winning culture and shared championship goals ahead of his impending free agency.

Rashid Shaheed, the dynamic wide receiver for the Seattle Seahawks, is about to hit the open market as an unrestricted free agent. His contributions were pivotal in Seattle's Super Bowl triumph, and he's made it clear that he's more than open to the idea of returning to the Pacific Northwest.

When asked about re-signing with the Seahawks, Shaheed didn't mince words. "Absolutely, absolutely, yeah," he expressed.

"Conversations are definitely going to be heating up towards March. But you know, I would love to come back.

I loved my experience here, I’m loving the Pacific Northwest, and obviously the organization is second to none."

Having just tasted the ultimate victory, Shaheed's focus remains firmly on winning. "The goal for me is just to continue to win. Now that I’ve got a taste of a Super Bowl championship, I’m gonna continue to work towards that each and every year, man."

At 27, Shaheed's journey from undrafted rookie to Super Bowl champion is nothing short of inspiring. Hailing from Weber State, where he was a four-time All-American kick returner, he initially made waves with the New Orleans Saints. His NFL debut was a splash, scoring a 44-yard rushing touchdown on his first carry, followed by a 54-yard touchdown reception on his first catch.

After being tendered by the Saints, Shaheed was traded to Seattle midseason in 2025 for fourth and fifth-round picks. He made his mark in 18 games between the Saints and Seahawks, hauling in 59 passes for 687 yards and two touchdowns. His special teams prowess was evident too, with 339 punt return yards and a touchdown, plus 447 kick return yards and another score.

Shaheed's name proudly sits on our Top 100 2026 NFL Free Agents list, and it's clear he's a player who combines talent with a winning mentality. Whether he stays in Seattle or moves on, his impact on the field is undeniable.
