NFL Star Accused Of Assaulting Pregnant Girlfriend, Career In Jeopardy

Kansas City Chiefs receiver Rashee Rice faces serious allegations in a civil lawsuit from the mother of his children, illuminating troubling claims that could impact his career and reputation.

Kansas City Chiefs receiver Rashee Rice is facing serious allegations in a civil lawsuit filed by Dacoda Jones, the mother of his two children. The suit, lodged in Dallas County, Texas, claims that Rice inflicted “severe and permanent injuries” on Jones over a period stretching from December 2023 to July 2025.

Jones, through her attorney Ron Estefan, is pursuing monetary damages exceeding $1 million. Notably, Rice has not been criminally charged in connection with these allegations, and the lawsuit does not specify whether Jones reported the incidents to law enforcement.

The allegations detail a troubling pattern of behavior, with claims that Rice and Jones, who shared residences in Dallas and Lee’s Summit, Mo., experienced multiple incidents of violence. In December 2023, Rice allegedly strangled Jones in their Victory Park home. The suit further describes a series of violent acts, including physical assaults and property destruction, many occurring while Jones was pregnant.

Jones had previously taken to Instagram to share photos of her injuries, which included a bruised lip, leg, and arm, along with scratches on her face and body. The post, which has since been deleted, expressed her exhaustion and frustration, stating, “I’m so tired of keeping quiet… I’ve had ENOUGH!”

The Chiefs have acknowledged the situation, stating they are in communication with the NFL. The league, through spokesman Brian McCarthy, confirmed that the matter is under review as part of its personal conduct policy.

Rice’s legal troubles are not new. He served a six-game suspension at the start of the 2025-26 season following a guilty plea related to a 2024 car crash in Dallas. That incident resulted in charges of racing on a highway and causing serious bodily injury, for which Rice received probation, jail time, and was ordered to pay significant restitution.

As Rice enters the final year of his rookie contract with Kansas City, these allegations cast a shadow over his career and future with the team.
