Cam Jordan Just Sent A Powerful Message About His Saints Return

Cam Jordan is set to complete his storied career with the New Orleans Saints, marking a pivotal moment for both the team and his enduring legacy.

Cam Jordan is back in New Orleans for what he says will be his final season with the Saints, and the veteran pass rusher sounds ready to make the most of it.

After signing a one-year deal to finish his career where it began, Jordan said the move felt natural. He pointed to the comfort of being back with the Saints, the people around him, and the simple fact that he’s still doing what he loves.

" I'm gainfully employed, you know? Heck yeah. You know, I cut the hair low 'cause I needed a job, and I found one.

Mm-hmm. You know?

Right back at home with the Saints, where I'm supposed to finish out. You know, 16 seasons is, is gonna be miraculous in itself.

All the training camps, all the practice, all the hard work, all of my favorite teammates, uh, you know, to be back with, past, present. Everybody, everybody was my yes man.

I didn't have anybody be like, "You should leave." It was like everybody like, "You should stay."

Exactly. Including my kids.

Yeah. And I was like, "Yeah, n- not gonna fight fate."

Jordan also made clear that this last ride is about more than his own numbers. He said his focus is on giving back in New Orleans, helping launch initiatives that can support the city, and being a steady presence for teammates old and new.

"In my mind, what's important about year 16 is me being back in New Orleans, in the city, giving back, you know, starting initiatives where we can, we can really help the city, being a part of the team where I can help propel my guys like Chase Young into, hopefully, another double-digit sack season.

Mm. Help the team hopefully get to a playoff berth, which, then, we can, you know, fight for the dance.

Right now, it's not about me. Not that it's ever been in, in the good old cog of, of, of machine that is the Saints.

But it feels like I'm all about uplifting my teammates. Um, we got the young quarterback, Tyler Shuck.

Jordan’s return already showed up in the Saints’ locker room and on the field, with the defense improving right away after he came back. Coming off what the source described as a renaissance season in 2025, the unit finished strong down the stretch, and Jordan now has a chance to add to the franchise record sack total he already owns.

Falcons Suddenly Have A Kaden Elliss Problem Saints Fans Know Well

Kaden Elliss move back to New Orleans has left the Falcons with a familiar kind of linebacker headache, and it is one Saints fans know well from the other side of the rivalry. Atlanta signed Elliss to a three-year contract, then quickly found itself sorting through a group that has talent but not a clean one-for-one answer at inside linebacker.

Christian Harris is the early favorite to line up next to Divine Deablo, but Jeff Ulbrich has made it clear this is not a simple plug-and-play fix. Troy Andersen remains in the mix when healthy, Kendal Daniels is still working through an injury, and Harold Perkins Jr. and Jalon Walker are among the other names that could help, which is why the Falcons seem headed toward a committee approach rather than a single replacement. Saints May Finally Have Their Answer At Cornerback

Kool-Aid McKinstry is entering the kind of season that can change the way a defense is viewed, and for the Saints, the timing could hardly be better. The 2024 second-round pick has already logged two seasons of uneven work in pass coverage, but his experience, draft pedigree and steady increase in responsibility have put him squarely in the conversation as a possible breakout player for 2026.

New Orleans has also cleared the runway for him to take on a much larger role at cornerback, which only raises the pressure on a player the team has been waiting to see grow into the job. If McKinstry can turn that opportunity into the kind of leap the Saints are hoping for, it would go a long way toward settling one of the defenses biggest questions heading into the new season. Saints Fans Will Be Watching This Rookie Closely In Camp

Keeshawn Silver is one of the more intriguing undrafted additions in the Saints defensive tackle room heading into camp. The 2026 signee has already taken a winding college path, starting at North Carolina before moving on to Kentucky and then USC, and he arrives in New Orleans with the kind of background that suggests there is still room for development if the fit is right.

What makes Silver worth tracking in the preseason is the simple reality of how crowded the fight for a spot can get at this stage of the roster build. He logged 43 games across his last two schools and flashed enough to stay on the radar, but now the challenge is translating that experience into a strong camp and proving he belongs in the mix when the Saints start sorting through their undrafted rookies.
