The Denver Broncos are bringing back fullback Adam Prentice on a one-year contract. Prentice, now 29, has had quite the journey since signing with the Broncos as an undrafted free agent out of South Carolina. Initially, he inked a three-year, $2.4 million deal, but was later cut by Denver.
His path took him to New Orleans, where the Saints picked him up off waivers. However, his time there was marked by frequent moves on and off the active roster. Despite these ups and downs, Prentice showed resilience and skill, which kept him in the mix.
He was set to become a restricted free agent in 2024, but the Saints opted to keep him with a one-year deal. Last off-season, Denver brought him back on a similar one-year contract. Although he was released after the preseason, he found his way back onto their active roster.
In the 2025 season, Prentice made his presence felt by appearing in all 17 games for the Broncos, starting in three. He contributed 10 carries for 44 yards and caught eight of his six targets for 53 yards. His versatility was further highlighted by his 11 tackles on special teams, showcasing his value beyond the offensive backfield.
Prentice's journey is a testament to his determination and adaptability, making him a valuable asset for the Broncos as they look to bolster their lineup for the upcoming season.
