Travis Etienne Jr. is turning a new page with the New Orleans Saints, and he's doing it in style with a fresh jersey number. Known for wearing No. 9 during his Clemson days and switching to No. 1 with the Jacksonville Jaguars, Etienne has opted for No. 3 with the Saints.
Why the change? Well, it’s all about growth and legacy.
At his introductory press conference, Etienne shared his perspective: "I want to switch the jersey. No. 1 was cool, but I feel like I'm a different person now.
I’ve matured and grown into my own. I have a son, and life has changed.
This new chapter is about creating my own legacy, and hopefully, one day, having that number retired."
Etienne's thoughtful approach reflects the maturity and character the Saints are banking on. With veteran leaders like Demario Davis moving on, Etienne’s presence will be crucial in a locker room navigating the challenges of a transition year. Rebuilding isn't always easy, but with Etienne's leadership, the Saints are in capable hands.
