Ivica Zubac Makes Debut With Pacers After Injury Delay

Ivica Zubac's return could mark a turning point for the Pacers as they aim to transform their current challenges into future success.

Pacers Update

Ivica Zubac has finally hit the court for the Pacers, and it’s been a long time coming. After being acquired at the trade deadline, Zubac was sidelined with a left ankle injury. But now he's back in action, making his debut this week.

In his first appearance against the Suns, Zubac logged 16 minutes and followed that up with 29 minutes against the Knicks. Coach Rick Carlisle has a clear plan: get Zubac comfortable with his new squad.

“We need to find ways to make these games meaningful for the development of our team,” Carlisle emphasized. “It’s important that Andrew Nembhard and Zubac play together.”

Despite holding the league’s worst record, there’s an optimistic vibe within the Pacers' camp. They believe next season could be a turnaround, with much of the roster that reached the Finals still intact.

Zubac is stepping into a pivotal role, previously held by Myles Turner, and he's already appreciating the Pacers' style. “No matter who plays on this team, they play the same way,” Zubac noted.

“They move the ball, they sacrifice for each other, and they play really hard.”

Celtics News

The Celtics are looking to bolster their frontcourt depth by signing center Charles Bassey to a 10-day contract, as reported by Michael Scotto of HoopsHype. Bassey, who has already signed three 10-day deals this season with the Grizzlies and 76ers, has been making waves in the G League. He's averaged an impressive 20.5 points, 12.5 rebounds, and 2.1 blocks over 20 games with the Santa Cruz Warriors and Delaware Blue Coats.

Boston has been operating with just 12 players, carefully managing their roster to stay below the luxury tax line. To meet the minimum roster requirement, they’ll need to add at least one more player alongside Bassey.

Pelicans Insight

Dejounte Murray is starting to find his groove again. The Pelicans guard dropped 35 points, along with seven rebounds and four assists, in a game against the Rockets. This marks his eighth game back since recovering from an Achilles tear, and interim coach James Borrego was pleased with what he saw.
