Will Campbell’s 2026 season is already carrying a lot of weight, but the New England Patriots left tackle is making headlines for something far less serious than football.
A viral practice clip from training camp shows Campbell in a highly animated exchange on the field, and the short video caught him using his hands to mimic a fellatio gesture toward a teammate. The moment quickly took over social media and put the second-year lineman in the spotlight for all the wrong reasons.
That’s a sharp turn from the on-field story that followed him out of last season. Campbell’s rookie year ended on a rough note after he struggled behind shaky offensive line play late in the year. He suffered a Grade 3 MCL sprain in Week 12 against the Bengals, and when he rushed back for the playoffs, the injury took a toll on his lower-body strength and anchoring ability.
The numbers reflected it. Campbell’s Pro Football Focus pass-blocking grade dropped from 76.1 over his first 12 regular-season games to 39.2 in the postseason. Over four playoff games, he gave up 29 total pressures, and in Super Bowl LX he allowed 14 quarterback pressures, tied for the most in a playoff game since 2018.
Now, fully healthy, Campbell is back at camp trying to rebuild his year. He spent the entire offseason recovering from a late-season right knee MCL sprain suffered in November 2025, and he’s been participating in training camp as the Patriots work on technique and chemistry along the offensive line.

Patriots Roster Cut Just Put More Pressure On One Position Group
The Patriots created a little more breathing room on the roster by releasing linebacker Otis Reese, who had first arrived via the practice squad last November. The move does not affect the salary cap, but it does open a spot as New England sits at 90 of its 91 available roster places.
