C.J. Stroud might not currently be in the top-five quarterback conversation, but let's not overlook what he’s accomplished with the Texans.
Leading the team to the playoffs and securing a postseason win in each of his three seasons is no small feat. So why are there whispers about trading him?
Texans GM Nick Caserio has made it clear that these rumors are baseless. In a recent media session, Caserio called the speculation “moronic” and firmly stated, “We are not trading C.J.”
Fans quickly echoed this sentiment, dismissing the trade rumors as absurd. One fan on social media noted, “Caserio’s direct response is the clearest statement of the offseason.
Houston isn’t moving Stroud.” Another added, “When C.J.
Stroud is the cornerstone of your rebuild and the reason the fanbase is hopeful again, you don’t entertain such nonsense.”
Despite the chatter, Stroud's performance speaks for itself. With a 28-18 record, a 63.8% completion rate, and 62 touchdowns against 25 interceptions, he’s been pivotal for the Texans.
Although his recent playoff outing against the Patriots wasn’t his best-throwing four interceptions-it's hardly a reason to consider trading him. That game might have been a bump in the road, but it doesn’t overshadow his contributions.
As long as Stroud continues to lead the Texans to the postseason, the idea of trading him seems far-fetched. If anything, discussions about a contract extension are likely already underway. Stroud is the future in Houston, and the franchise appears committed to building around him.
