In a story that's making waves across the NFL, newly released police body camera footage has given us a glimpse into the post-victory celebrations of some New England Patriots players. After clinching the AFC Championship with a narrow 10-7 win over the Denver Broncos, the Patriots, led by quarterback Drake Maye and head coach Mike Vrabel, secured their spot in Super Bowl LX against the Seattle Seahawks.
The footage, obtained through a public request, shows the scene inside Estella, a Boston restaurant where the celebration took place. It was a lively affair, complete with a DJ, cash scattered on the floor, and apparent hookah smoking.
The festivities, however, took a turn when police responded to a noise complaint around 2:20 a.m. Officers reported the smell of marijuana, observed liquor, and noted the presence of exotic dancers.
The Boston Licensing Board subsequently suspended Estella’s liquor license for three days.
Fast forward to Super Bowl LX, and the Patriots faced a tough challenge against the Seahawks, ultimately falling 29-13. Drake Maye had a mixed performance, completing 27 of 43 passes for 295 yards, with two touchdowns and two interceptions.
The defeat was a tough pill to swallow, and the aftermath saw some team changes, including the release of Stefon Diggs. With his salary cap hit set to jump significantly, and off-the-field issues adding to the decision, the Patriots decided to part ways.
As the Patriots look to regroup, fans are left wondering if they can make another run next year. It will take a perfect alignment of circumstances, but with the right moves, they could find themselves back in the mix.
