Patriots Linked To Explosive 1,568-Yard Star In Offseason Shakeup

As the Patriots regroup after a tough Super Bowl loss, one versatile pass-catcher is emerging as a potential game-changing target for their offseason rebuild.

The Patriots’ season came to a close Sunday night with a 29-13 loss to the Seahawks in Super Bowl LX - a tough finish to a campaign that saw some promising strides but ultimately fell short on the biggest stage.

Now, the focus in Foxborough shifts quickly from heartbreak to roster building. And one area that could use some attention?

Tight end. With Hunter Henry locked in as the starter, the Patriots may want to add another weapon to the mix - someone who can stretch the field, create mismatches, and ease some of the pressure on the passing game.

One name making the rounds in league circles: Isaiah Likely.

The Baltimore Ravens tight end has quietly put together a strong four-year run, tallying 135 receptions, 1,568 yards, and 15 touchdowns in 63 games. He’s shown he can be productive in a system that emphasizes versatility and physicality - two traits that would fit nicely in New England’s evolving offense.

If the Patriots don’t use a high draft pick on a tight end, Likely could be a smart veteran target. He’s not coming in to take over Henry’s role, but he could be a dynamic complement - someone who can line up in multiple spots and give the offense more flexibility in two-tight end sets.

But it won’t be as simple as making a phone call. Likely could have multiple suitors this offseason.

The Ravens may want to keep him in-house, especially given his familiarity with the system. The Giants could also be in play, with his former head coach John Harbaugh now in New York.

And don’t rule out the Browns, who just hired Todd Monken - Baltimore’s former offensive coordinator - as their new head coach.

So if the Patriots want to make a run at Likely, they’ll need to be aggressive. But if they land him, he could be a valuable piece in a retooled offense looking to take the next step in 2026.
