The Chiefs got past the Broncos in Week 1, but the passing game still left something to be desired.
Rashee Rice and Xavier Worthy, along with the rest of Kansas City’s receivers, didn’t exactly light it up in the win. It wasn’t a disaster, but it was enough to keep the wide receiver room in the conversation as an area that could use help.
That’s where Jerry Jeudy comes in. Kristopher Knox of Bleacher Report named the Chiefs a “potential suitor” for the Browns wideout, and the fit is easy to see.
Knox noted that Jeudy is still just 27 and carries a contract that could appeal to 2026 contenders looking for receiver help, with a base salary of only $1.5 million. He also listed Kansas City and the New England Patriots as possible landing spots.
The price tag could be manageable, too. Knox projects Jeudy’s trade value as a “conditional 4th-round draft pick.” That’s not cheap enough to make the move automatic, but it’s also not so high that a deal would be hard to justify.
For Kansas City, the appeal is obvious: Jeudy would give Patrick Mahomes another target and add some much-needed production to the passing game. And if his career has been slowed by shaky quarterback situations, a move to Kansas City could finally unlock the version of Jeudy people expected when he came out of college.
The Browns, meanwhile, have reasons of their own to consider it. They used first- and second-round picks in the 2026 NFL Draft on KC Concepcion and Denzel Boston, and Isaiah Bond also gives them another intriguing option at receiver. That has made Jeudy more expendable.
There’s also the bigger picture in Cleveland. After trading Myles Garrett, the Browns are clearly in a rebuilding phase, and moving Jeudy would fit that direction as well. With enough depth at receiver and no clear long-term need for him, the Browns could justify listening.
And from Jeudy’s side, the move would be hard to beat. Going from the Browns to the Chiefs - and from Deshaun Watson and Shedeur Sanders to Mahomes - would be a major change of scenery.
