A.J. Brown Linked to Four Potential NFL Trade Destinations This Offseason

Speculation swirls as potential trade destinations emerge for A.J. Brown, yet the Eagles face significant challenges in considering a deal.

If the Philadelphia Eagles are considering trading A.J. Brown this offseason, they can expect a crowded field of interested teams.

Brown has been a standout performer for the Eagles since his arrival in 2022, racking up 339 receptions for 5,034 yards and 32 touchdowns. Despite his Super Bowl victory and All-Pro accolades in Philly, this past season saw him visibly frustrated.

The situation even led to Eagles GM Howie Roseman being questioned about Brown's future with the team. Roseman responded, “It’s hard to find great players in the NFL and A.J.’s a great player.

That’s what we’re going out and looking for, when we go out in free agency and the Draft, is trying to find great players who love football and he’s that guy.”

While a trade doesn't seem imminent, speculation about Brown's future is rampant. ESPN analysts Jeremy Fowler, Dan Graziano, Tim McManus, Ben Solak, and Seth Walder recently discussed potential trade scenarios involving Brown.

The proposed deals included the Browns, Bills, and Patriots offering their 2026 first-round picks. Meanwhile, the Ravens' proposal included a 2027 second-round pick, a 2027 fourth-round pick, and wide receiver Rashod Bateman.

However, a blockbuster trade involving Brown seems unlikely at the moment. A significant factor is the $43.5 million in dead money the Eagles would incur if they traded him. Michael Ginnitti of Spotrac pointed out that trading Brown early this offseason would result in the fourth largest single-season dead cap hit in NFL history, creating substantial financial complications for the team.

For now, Brown is expected to gear up as the Eagles' No. 1 wide receiver next season. Yet, if circumstances deteriorate, a reunion with Mike Vrabel on the Patriots wouldn’t be surprising.
