Nebraska fans who keep waiting for Trae Taylor to change course just got a pretty direct answer from the quarterback’s family.
The 5-star signal-caller has already said plenty of times that he’s committed to Nebraska, but the speculation has never really stopped. Now his father, J.R. Taylor, is making the message even louder: Trae isn’t headed anywhere else for college.
J.R. Taylor has been more active on social media lately, especially after his son caught criticism from an Omaha radio station for being positive. One of his latest posts was aimed squarely at the people still pushing flip talk around the Nebraska commit.
“Let’s please be clear, if we have these people in the building,” he wrote alongside a picture of the staff. “TRAE WILL BE WITH THEM IN DECEMBER.

He also made it clear he wants people to stop lumping Trae Taylor in with Dylan Raiola. There are some similarities between the two, especially in how both have tried to recruit peers after committing to the Cornhuskers, but J.R. Taylor said the comparisons need to end.
Taylor’s rise has only fueled the outside noise. He entered the year as a 4-star quarterback and a highly regarded prospect, then kept climbing until 247Sports elevated him to 5-star status and named him the best quarterback in the 2027 class this summer.
That kind of profile naturally draws attention from other programs, and some have clearly tried to see if Nebraska can be shaken loose. The pushback around Matt Rhule has only made that easier for rival recruiters, with the message often sounding like he won’t still be there when the quarterback arrives.
Ohio State has been the most aggressive lately, even trying to get Taylor to visit Columbus. Taylor said he was impressed that the Buckeyes wanted him that badly, but he passed on the trip because he’s locked in with Nebraska.
