Nebraska football fans are doing what they do best when a cryptic social media post lands: trying to read the tea leaves.
The latest spark came from director of personnel/recruiting Keith Williams, who posted a GIF that looked a lot like the kind he usually shares when a commitment is on the way. Four-star offensive tackle commitment Timi Aliu jumped in by reposting it and adding, “Just wait…” with the shushing face emoji.
That was enough to set off the rumor mill, even though there haven’t been any fresh crystal ball projections from 247 Sports or any new expert picks in the Rivals Recruiting Prediction Machine.
One possibility is that this is tied to a surprise commitment in the 2028 class, but that theory gets messy fast. Aliu is a 2027 recruit, so why would he be teasing it? It could make sense if the player were from his school, but there hasn’t been a recent visitor who fits that description.
Still, plenty of Nebraska fans are leaning into the bigger dream: a flip of five-star tight end Ahmad Hudson.
Hudson, who is committed to LSU, took an official visit to Lincoln in June and has also been turning heads on the basketball court lately. At 6-foot-6 and 239 pounds, he’s been a name Nebraska insiders have circled for weeks, with the feeling around the program that the Huskers are in a strong spot.
That intrigue gets even louder because Hudson also has a basketball offer from Nebraska, and pairing him with five-star quarterback commitment Trae Taylor would be a pretty enticing setup.
Nebraska has had some excellent tight ends over the years, but Hudson is being talked about as a different level of talent.
For now, though, there’s still no public expert projection pointing to a flip. The buzz has been building for weeks, but not enough to make the destination obvious. The clearest thing right now is that something good appears to be coming.
The only question is what it actually is.

Dylan Raiolas Value Is Being Debated Again After Leaving Nebraska
Dylan Raiolas move to Oregon has put his value back under the microscope, and ESPNs transfer rankings offer one snapshot of how the market sees him. The former five-star recruit and Nebraska starter landed at No. 28 among college football transfers, a reminder that even after arriving in Eugene, his reputation is still tied as much to projection as production.
Dan Lanning has already pointed to Raiolas growth and intelligence, saying Oregon is asking him to do things he has never been asked to do. Raiola has also sounded comfortable with the idea of waiting his turn, which makes his next steps worth watching even if the immediate path is not the one he once envisioned. [Read more 🡒]
Nebraska May Finally Have The Roster Fred Hoiberg Has Wanted
After Nebraskas breakthrough 2025-2026 season, one that brought the program its first NCAA tournament win and a trip to the Sweet 16, Fred Hoiberg finally has a roster that looks built to match his vision. The Huskers are bringing back Pryce Sandfort and Braden Frager, two pieces who helped anchor last years run, while the staff has spent the offseason targeting additions that better fit the way Hoiberg wants to play.
The most important part of that overhaul may be how the new faces change the shape of the offense. Trevan Leonhardt gives Nebraska a needed presence at point guard, and Sam Orme adds the kind of shooting and spacing that can make life easier for the returners. Hoiberg and his staff have been chasing that balance for a while, and now the question is whether the pieces they assembled can turn a good season into something even more dangerous. [Read more 🡒]
