Nebraska head coach Matt Rhule has been methodical in his approach to the 2026 Transfer Portal cycle, plugging holes in key areas and building a roster that looks more balanced heading into spring ball. But with the portal window still open, the Huskers might not be quite finished yet.
Enter Owen Stoudmire - a name to watch closely in the coming days. The former Boston College defensive lineman is the only player currently scheduled for an official visit to Lincoln, and he could be the final piece of the puzzle for Nebraska’s transfer class.
Stoudmire brings something Nebraska’s defense could really use: experience. After five seasons with Boston College, the Ohio native is looking for a fresh start and a chance to make an impact in his final year of eligibility. Standing at 6-foot-1 and weighing in at 292 pounds, Stoudmire has the kind of size and maturity that can stabilize a defensive front - especially one that had its share of struggles getting off the field last season.
His college career at BC spanned 35 games, including five starts. While his numbers won’t jump off the page - 52 total tackles, 18 of them solo, and 2.5 sacks - they don’t tell the full story.
Stoudmire’s most productive year came in 2024, when he finally saw consistent playing time and made the most of it. Unfortunately, injuries derailed his 2025 campaign, keeping him off the field and ultimately leading to a medical redshirt that gave him one more shot at college football.
For Nebraska, the potential addition of Stoudmire isn’t about flashy stats - it’s about what he brings to the trenches. This is a player who’s been through the grind of ACC football, who understands the demands of the position, and who can step into a leadership role on a defensive line that’s still evolving.
There’s no official word yet on whether Stoudmire will commit to the Huskers, but he was expected to be on campus as early as January 14. If all goes well, he could be the final addition to a transfer class that’s quietly addressed several of Nebraska’s most pressing needs.
With spring ball on the horizon, Rhule and his staff are looking to lock in their roster - and Stoudmire might just be the last name to check off the list.
