The other notable Nebraska football development came on the roster itself, where a position switch stood out more than the usual weight changes. Four-star Jeremiah Jones has moved from wide receiver to defensive line, and the Huskers are viewing him as an EDGE rather than an interior lineman.
Jones came out of high school listed as an WR/OLB, and he’s now listed at 6-foot-4, 230 pounds. He wanted to play receiver, but he had just one catch for six yards last season.
With Nebraska’s wideout room crowded, the path there was getting tighter. EDGE, meanwhile, offers a clearer opening, especially with the Huskers not exactly stacking up blue-chip commitments at the spot.
The big question now is whether Jones can break into the rotation this season. If he can’t, the long-term fit gets harder to read. But the athletic traits are there, and Nebraska is clearly betting that this move gives him a better shot to tap into them.
