Kaden Howard Stuns Fans With Bold Commitment to Nebraska Football

Speedy wide receiver Kaden Howard commits to Nebraska, turning down multiple offers after a compelling visit and strong ties to the Huskers' program.

Nebraska football is making waves in the 2027 recruiting scene, adding another promising talent from South Florida. Miami Palmetto's wide receiver, Kaden Howard, announced his commitment to the Huskers, choosing them over offers from Minnesota, Louisville, Missouri, Mississippi State, and more.

Standing at 5-foot-10 and weighing in at 160 pounds, Howard is known for his speed and agility. Nebraska didn't waste any time, identifying Howard as a key target early in the recruiting process and extending an offer in January. A visit to the campus in March solidified his interest, leaving a lasting impression on the young receiver.

"I already liked Nebraska, but visiting took it to another level," Howard shared. "The coaches are fantastic, and I really believe in what they're building here."

Howard isn't coming into the program without familiar faces. He has connections with current Husker wide receivers Cortez Mills, Larry Miles, and Jacory Barney Jr., who all had glowing reviews of the program's direction.

"They told me I'd love it up there, and they were right," Howard said.

With Howard's commitment, Nebraska now has two wide receivers in its 2027 class, joining Millard South's Tay Ellis. Last season, Howard demonstrated his skills with 25 receptions for 510 yards and seven touchdowns. His athletic prowess extends beyond the gridiron, clocking a 10.6 in the 100 meters at one of his first track meets.

Rated as a three-star prospect by 247Sports with an overall score of 86, Howard is poised to make an impact. He's already lined up an official visit to Nebraska for the weekend of June 12.

Howard has also formed a strong connection with Husker receivers coach Daikiel Shorts. "We talk like we're best buddies," Howard said.

"Coach Shorts is dedicated, pushing players to their limits and beyond. His confidence and commitment are infectious.

Jacory loves him, and I’m already on the same page."

This addition is yet another strategic move for Nebraska as they continue to build a formidable team for the future.
